Business card design process: LDP

PriDegree_LindaDP business card display2As promised, this week I will share Linda’s Dutch Pancakes’ business card process.

I designed the first version during the same time that I was designing the logo. This competition included both the logo and business card.  After the logo was chosen, I thought of designing the entire corporate identity. Since there should be an over arching theme, I started with what was already available – the website.

I deduced the following:

  1. The website has a stripe with a cropped image.
  2. It has blue circles with icons, neatly ranged at equidistance.
  3. White space ( negative space) has been used effectively.

Then, incorporated these features into the new business card.

I started with the icons.

Changed their colours to confirm to the theme. In corporate identity you should always create a rule, which can be used on all of your elements.
