I designed the first PriDegree logo.
I designed the first PriDegree Banner.
2014 witness the break into online design platforms. I was still in 2nd year, but I was determined to get my business running before I graduated. Local competition was high, with no client wanting to trust a 2nd year student, unless they know you and merely want to support you. But that did not stop me, the online platform was available and nobody could judge you on your age, colour or experience – you could only be judged on what you presented. After more than 276 logos rejected and 24 changes, I was finally able to win on the Inspire Fitness logo for Inspire Fitness 24 gym.
In 2015, I was able to rebrand the PriDegree Corporate Identity and designed an entire package: logo, business cards, letterheads, complimentary slips, email signatures etc.
The first time I ever wanted a website was in 2009. I could not afford it obviously, and I did not know how it worked. Nevertheless, I was able to create a ning network, by the name bkdscomics.ning.com. A year later, ning started charging for their websites and that was how it ended. In that same year, I found comics-space, which was similar to ning, but merely made use of WordPress. I used it for a couple of years, until it to like ning came to an end. In 2013, I was able to create both a googlesite and a weebly website (which are still available by the way: PriDegree googlesite and PriDegree Weebly). In 2016 after working full time at PriDegree I was able to buy my domain: pridegree.com.
In 2017, I was studying towards my Honours in Graphic Design Commication, with the University of Hertfordshire. During this time I also worked on Linda’s Dutch Pancakes corporate identity rebranding.
This is how it looked like before:
Never doubt your humble beginnings! What encouraged me over the years was to celebrate each milestone, no matter how small. I grew up without a computer, the first computer I got was when I was 22, it was very hard, and I always remember all those years without one. If now, I have one, I should be able to do so much more. On top of that it also shows how life can change. Before I did not have now I have more than one. Always celebrate your achievements, it opens doors for others.
Have a Good Friday.
